Almost 100 years after its construction in 1924, the building is getting dressed up to become the new Hotel Montera Madrid, a clear benchmark for casual luxury in the capital of Spain, which will open its doors at the beginning of Spring 2023.
Located in an emblematic historic building, located in one of the most outstanding corners in all of Madrid, facing the Gran Vía and the pedestrian Montera Street that connects Gran Vía with the Puerta del Sol, the Hotel Montera is in the absolute centre of the city.
A unique concept developed by the internationally acclaimed interior designer Lázaro Rosa Violán. The Hotel has 93 rooms, 8 of them spacious and bright suites with unbeatable views of Madrid’s Gran Vía and Montera street. The Montera that is present in all the rooms crowning the valet designed exclusively for the hotel.
Among the works of art that can be enjoyed at the hotel, of particular note is contribution of the Madrid artist Miguel Caravaca, who has installed a 25-metre-high canvas on the panoramic glass of the elevator to accompany guests during their transit between the ground floor and the 10th floor.
The lobby is located on the 9th floor, and is surrounded by 3 outdoor terraces: The Burladero, Sol, and Sombra Terraces, which have a menu and cocktail service. Also on the 9th floor are two rooms ready to be occupied: Porta Gayola and Temple.
The dazzling La Braserí restaurant is the jewel on the 9th floor, offering a casual menu of world cuisine with a Madrid accent. Its imposing cocktail bar dominates the space and will capture the attention of guests, not only for its superb selection of cocktails, but also for its delicate gold finish and the handmade mosaic that serves as its base. It has magnificent views of the Gran Vía as a backdrop.
Finally, on the rooftop of the Hotel Montera Madrid, the city’s skyline merges with the vibrant life of the two streets that surround the building. On the rooftop, guests will have access to the pool/solarium, Balinese beds and the option of tapas and cocktails at El Cielo de Chicote, the first cocktail bar in Spain that now, in addition to its legendary El Museo de Chicote right on Gran Vía, has decided to rise up to the occasion to offer the best views of Madrid.
